Summary:
The Commission’s denied the claimant’s request for an extension of her sickness benefits. On June 28, 2009 the claimant established an initial claim for sickness benefits and received 15 weeks of benefits. A medical certificate indicated that the claimant was not available for work by reason of her sickness until September 24, 2010. At the hearing the claimant restated that she is not able to be back to work, but should be entitled to 33 weeks of additional benefit. Persons who, by reason of sickness, leave their employment are not available to work and therefore do not meet the criteria for eligibility to regular benefits. The appeal by the claimant is dismissed.
