Summary:
Dismissed because she searched the computer records of her employer and provided an incorrect address for her sister's children. Umpire ruled that an employee must abide by the reasonable rules set by the employer. Confidentiality is certainly such a rule, especially when child welfare is involved. By accessing information and then giving an address which, while incorrect, was in part based on confidential information, was a breach of the employee's obligation to the employer.

Summary:
The only evidence the Commission had of the claimant's misconduct [theft] was the affidavit of an employee. This document was not submitted to the Board. That affidavit was essential to discharge the Commission's onus. Without it, a finding of misconduct had no basis in fact.
