Search by Case Number

As an issues related database, the Index is better used trying to find a relevant decision by issue and sub-issue. At times, in determining whether a particular decision is in the Index, it is useful to search for it by its identifying number.

The following are examples of Case Numbers

  • CUB: 47458, 43829A, etc.
  • Federal Court of Appeal: A-188-00, etc.
  • Federal Court: T-27-99, etc.

As the Index is a database of selected decisions, the decision you are looking for may likely not be found this way. You are encouraged to search the Jurisprudence Library instead.

Note: If you enter only part of a number, the search tool will list all the records that include all the characters you have entered and appearing, in their respective case number, in the order entered.
